Sunsets are really beautiful, they really are. And I really had nothing to do in Boracay or the island, as I like to call it! So I spent almost every single day going to the beach at 530 just to wait for the sunset.
So to aid my post with visuals, that's how the beach looks like, except it really isn't that nice anymore because they keep putting up establishments on the beach which blocks your view and all :/ It makes me kind of sad that the island has now become some way to just earn money, oh well.

And I saw this cute little snowman that someone made with seaweed! HAHA. I just had to take a picture :pAlso I found out that there's actually Starbucks on the island! Considering you walk the entire island in an hour + (it's pretty tiny) I was pretty surprised.
This is my mum's side of the family, six siblings all in all, it's crazy :O And the ang moh people on the right are my step cousins if you happened to be wondering! hehe (My aunt remarried)
So I had really good food- by really good food I mean really unhealthy, fattening food but you know what? It was completely worth it HAHAHAAnd I find it very coincidental how I picked four pictures and from left to right is my breakfast-dinner!
Yes I ate a lot, don't judge me.
And my favourite mango shake drink in the entire world gets its own separate picture :D
Going to Philippines wasn't exactly something I was ecstatic about, but it was a good trip I guess- boring, yes, but it made me realise that it's very hard not to do anything. That it takes conscious effort to sit and just relax. I got a lot of rest there because 1/2 the time I was sleeping hahahaha- in the car, at home in Manila, on the island, my mum was very amused.
It really made me so sad sometimes when I saw the kids knocking on car windows and all that. Even if my parents tell me they have like an "owner" and the money doesn't go to them but kids as little as 3 or 4 running across streets and the cars just speeding past (we have no lanes in the philippines) and you're just worried they'll get knocked down or something.
At least one thing I took back from this trip was to realise how blessed you are in Singapore. I came back and couldn't stop saying "I'm glad to be back" and how everything is really clean and organised and we have wifi/3G everywhere. Not having any internet for 9 days was painful, but then at least I learnt I should really stop complaining when other people have so much less that they live under bridges with cardboard and sell necklaces made out of flowers.
Oh and I almost forgot New Year's resolutions! Or more like challenges for this year. I actually didn't come up with a list but here's an impromptu one.
1. Rest.
I know not sleeping for 34 hours is insane and sleeping at 5 makes you sick and people get irritated at you cause you can't do work and you feel like crap so yes, rest is really important.
2. Manage my time better.
If I have time to tumblr/blog/twitter and whatnot, I have time to study and at the same time, prepare bible studies for my little Sec ones that I'm leading this year, really nervous and scared but excited.
3. Just keep growing.
2012 was a year where I realised how wonderful it is to grow in faith and I really don't want it to stop there.
4. Talk to my brother more.
I heard today that my brother couldn't sleep anymore at night in the US, and I feel bad. I tried calling him in Bora to wish me happy birthday and a happy new year but when he didn't pick up I didn't try again the next day.
I kinda do miss my brother :(
5. Patience and to stop complaining.
Basically, count your blessings :)
That's all I could think of for now, but I know I'll definitely think of more, just kinda sleepy-ish now that's why :x
And I'm truly sorry to the people I fell out with in 2012- not that you know my blog url but if by some miracle you happen to stumble across and read all the way to the end, thank you :)
It's been a hectic year, but a really good one.
8 days and I still can't believe it's 2013 and I took O's 2 years ago- TWO YEARS.
But to end this post off, a very very late Happy New Year to everyone and enjoy looking at the pretty fireworks! (the fireworks were really amazing, I was half in fear of getting hit by them cause they were so near hahahaha)
I really hope everyone has a blessed year ahead :')
