So I'm writing this as I eat my onion rings at BK 45 minutes before work.
My 3G isn't working, and my wifi at home isn't either- Singtel said to wait 1-2 hours. I think it's a service provider problem.
As I sat eating dinner, I really literally didn't know what to do. I realised that sub consciously I'm using 3G all the time- even if I'm doing devotion on my phone, I need 3G for that, how ironic.

So I was thinking, what did they do back at the time (which wasn't even that long ago) when there wasn't any Internet. They funny thing is that they seemed satisfied with their lives and didn't look crippled like we are nowadays.
For school, if they had to do research my guess is they had to go to the library and actually look for the book, something which we, or at least I rarely even do nowadays.
I talk about hating e books but I read books on my phone anyway (hypocriteeeeeeeee)

Basically, Internet has made me lazy. I can carry the Bible anywhere I go, it's barely even considered 'weight' but I don't. Why? Cause 'I have a Bible on my phone anyway.' And now that my 3G isn't working, I can't open the Bible AND my iPhone is useless.

Somehow technology has made life easier yet at the same time some things were lost.

Oh well, thoughts over. Bye bye

SO EXCITED!!!!!

HALO EVERYBODY. I know i haven't blogged in 1223435 years and I'm pretty sure no one follows this anymore but I shall pretend I do have readers anyway.

I'm currently in the process of redecorating my room and its taking so much longer than expected- also I'm using my own pay to pay for the stuff but it isn't that bad. Everything put together would be around a 150 i guess? This is what my holiday job was for.

There used to be a mountain of boxes in my brother's room (and if you've been to my house you probably know what I'm talking about) and recently, it's finally cleared!
So i shifted my bed and table around and blah blah but its so boring so I just got the idea to get the room that i've always wanted.
Yes, I'm aware its my brother's room but he won't be back till next november.

I'm planning to paint part of my room this colour:
I know it's really blur cause i took a screenshot from the paint catalog hahaha

Basically I'm just really really excited. I have so much stuff that I can't wait to put up, I just need to paint the wall first.

But there's youth leaders retreat this friday till sunday so i probably won't be able to do it on Monday ughhhhh.
I still need fairy lights and some pictures to frame, yes.

OKAY THAT IS ALL. Will maybe post some pictures when I'm done with it, hopefully by Tuesday :)
XOXO

Overwhelmed

So news just reported that Cory Monteith just died and I thought it was another hoax but no, he's really gone.
Doesn't it remind you how life is so fragile and how tomorrow is not certain for anyone?
I'm just so thankful to be alive right now, I kind of lost myself for a little while, but I'm glad I got back on my feet, thanks to my circumstances which were horrible at first but turned out to be a blessing.
I'm just feeling very overwhelmed by God's love right now, that how He knows everything before you know it. Just a day ago I was crying my eyes out cause I thought everything was horrible but it really turned out to be okay.

In class

Probably the only reason why I'm blogging cause I'm bored to death in class.
Basically a list of things i've been doing:

1)SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL.
Gotta get up at 6am for like 4 days in a row and blah, so much work, I don't even know where to start.

2)Exercise
Ian's calling me a fitness junkie but I really just want to get fit. All them muscles ;)
My arms really hurt though :'( :'( :'( I literally can't raise them at all and it was only a ten minute arm workout.

3)Thinking of what to wear for DMC Connect.
It's this event that we have every year and this year's theme is Superstar. I have two dresses in mind but don't know HOW I'm gonna wear it.

I really want to sleep right now, really really tired. Plus later I still have to run later for at least 5k later :( We're running to Woodlands Waterfront which is about 3k but i don't know, I feel like if i dont run for at least 4.5 every time I run its a useless run :(
Okay enough of fitness talk.

I'm confirmed going to the US in June (and hopefully by then my brother cant say im fat or chubby no more) so if you all want anything (that isnt heavy and isnt super expensive), I can buy it while im there!

REALLY EXCITED about going to the US but definitely not about the 24 hour plane ride. I really think I'm gonna take pills so I just sleep all the way.

Okay nothing more.
TAH TAH :-)

USS (YAY)

Couldn't resist blogging about this since as of today, I have only 11 days till school and I'll probably get to busy to do a week summary and all that.
Went to USS with friends from church yesterday, took loads of photos and ate lots of unhealthy food (everything else was unreasonably overpriced)

Woke up at 6 yesterday, my goodness. One of those rare moments when you can convince pat to wake up at 6 HAHA. Thankful it didn't rain yesterday so we had a hot hot HOT day- we all smelled so bad by the end of the day.

Ended up taking a million photos before riding anything first though and here's a really retarded photo of us HAHAHA

And we met Bert the unibrow and of course, Elmo hehe. So adorable :)

Though I noticed a distinct trend in all the pictures we took. Apparently I am really blur and can't listen to instructions when they decide what facial expression to use.

EXAMPLE ONE

Stare stare stare SMILING

EXAMPLE TWO

Look away look away SMILING AGAIN. oops.

I think I finally got the gist here HAHA
*pat on pat's back*
Oh we were trying to be cool and do the 1D pose, with six people.
Hannah: "We super step sia", pun intended.

 GROUP PHOTO :)

HAH this is really hilarious, see that red roller coaster? That was the first ride we took at USS. Of which during the ride I screamed my head off, braid came completely undone, almost died (well not really, I just thought I almost died)
After that they wanted to take the blue one which has loops and all and after the first one...no way. I thought I could be brave and do it but no- at the entrance I ended up crying from fear. But it was the "tears stream down your face" kind not the "sob sob sob wail" kind, so at least the level of embarrassment wasn't that bad. I think.
So me and Hannah [Hannah and I] (fourth from left in group photo in case you're wondering) just sat down while the rest took it three times, YES THREE TIMES :O

After which Lloyd had to publicly announce on twitter of my little breakdown >:(

Had a really good dinner though! We were all absolutely starving by 6 plus/7 and we went to eat Carls' Jr at Vivo and abused the refillable drinks. I had Chili Cheese fries- trust me, it's more filling than it looks in the picture.

After which we went up to the top floor and soaked our feet in the water/lay down on the wooden flooring/star gazed.
If Lloyd was right, we saw Orion's belt yesterday! Three stars aligned in a straight row, it was pretty cool :)
(Sorry iphone 5 isn't enough to capture stars if not i'd definitely post a picture)

We practically took every single ride there except the stupid train one which does nothing.
It was a really good day though, I would even use the word awesome. The company and everything definitely made the trip to USS worthwhile :)

Went to run this morning though, woke up at 630. I am not used to me being so...healthy. But you feel really good for the rest of the day (though tired). May actually continue doing this when school starts, if  I have the discipline and the motivation hahaha
Its thursday! TGIF tomorrow :) But technically Fridays are only a relief for people who have school (sorry JC people, you can rub it in when I have school and you're on holiday next time)

Okay bye bye :-)

Monday, 1 April 2013

Good food, good company.

So Kim and I decided in Feb that we would do this called "Document Your Life", it's something that someone on tumblr created. Basically just putting videos (almost like a vlog) to document your month. And because I'm having holidays and also really bored, I actually did it but blogger won't upload it, so the link is here March :)  And it's unlisted on youtube so be honoured you get to see my boring month hehe. I literally didn't use any video editing skills so just imagine a bunch of random videos put together.
[oh and also cause i know i disappeared for the entire month here so you get a video hahaha]

I did forget to video some things though like Jollibeeeeeeeee :D
Queued for one hour instead of three (which was apparently the average queuing time for everyone we asked)
I actually woke up at six for jollibee, yup. I'm insane, I know.
Finally went out to catch up with Janice though! It's been two/three years? She brought me to this little cozy place in Holland V with really really awesome food. You should be drooling by now.

Brought the sec one CG out to Ikea, Tampines and played Hide and seek with them! So the three of us just hid in some "balcony" and then closed the curtains- they couldn't find us :p
It looked like a partition from the outside so I would be impressed if they did anyway.

The kids :) (half of them at least)

My ang moh cousins were here this week! Yes, we're really related. My aunt's (dad's side) husband is from Denmark.
Side Note: they're both younger than me! (the one on my left's thirteen and the other sixteen)

Went shopping with the younger cousin in the afternoon, I got pretty things yay :)

Went to this cafe called "five and dime" and had pasta! A lot of the reviews said it was amazing and family said it was amazing but it's meh for me. I think you have to have an acquired taste to finish the entire thing.
(it was some mentaiko thing with cod fish roe)

I hope everyone's had a good March! I don't really feel like writing much today cause I'm really really tired today. The Air-con guys came this morning and I had to get up and my mum dragged me out to the smelly herbal hair place again. Probably the worst thing is that school starts in almost exactly two weeks :| nooooo.

Okay bye :-)

Thursday, 14 March 2013

Good morning people

Im actually awake before 12, I deserve some applause for that.
So I quit work on Tuesday because one month is more than enough to be sitting in an office for eight hours everyday. I AM FREE AS A BIRD NOW- well except I can't really fly, but you get the point.

Anyway, yesterday I was making up for lost sleep and I woke up at two thirty in the afternoon :D But today somehow I'm awake and it's only 11. I woke up twice before this at 8 and 1030- I think my body has conditioned itself to wake up early. AND IM NOT EVEN TIRED, wow.

For once, I have no pictures to post- except this amazing ramen I had with Kim on my last day of work, but I'm too lazy to post it hahaha.
My day now consists of chores, eating food, 2 broke girls and some reading, it's not bad at all. I literally spent 3/4 of my day yesterday sitting in bed. I can also hear your voice in my head saying "Wow pat you're such a sloth" HAHA

I keep forgetting at this time normal JC people would be at school, oops. (and no, I'm not trying to rub it in your faces that I'm on holiday)

Have a good day everyone!
xoxo
(it looks cool so I'm gonna leave it there)

Monday, 4 March 2013

work and other stuff.

So I'm finally posting and a big thank you to everyone who has bugged me endlessly to post something, I know I can be a master of procrastination and really stubborn at times (most of the time)
This is where I start talking about work and bore you all so let me skip to the good things that came with working- Tanjong Pagar has good food :D

So a friend brought us to do this place called "Chocolate and Spice" and I was honestly expecting some bakery and a relatively big place but it's so simple that you could miss it- but the queue is incredibly long and they're super famous plus their muffins are amazing. Actually planning to get a box tomorrow to bring home so yay for that!

I guess work has been...I don't really have a word to describe it. It's like sometimes I'm glad I'm working so I'm not bored to death at home and earning some cash, but other times I really wish I wasn't working cause it's really bleh. Just bleh. It's not the people or anything, it's just work life is tiring. Thinking about how I always thought working was much cooler and more interesting than studying, well I was wrong wrong wrong.

Kim and I have this thing where when we get really tired, we have laughing fits, I'm not joking, we just laugh at everything and anything- happens everyday at 5pm (we end at six you see). I have so many videos on my phone of us looking like we're high on drugs.
At least my last work day is on 16th March so just hanging in there for 12 days. I can do this. (repeats to self hundred times every working day)

Moving on, we had a freshman showcase on Friday (i'll elaborate later) I'm finally year two. And we finally got our super late class outing at fish and co, you can kill me but I still find Manhattan's fish and chips the best HAHA

We finally got our cards to the Agency! It's some "exclusive" (or at least I would call it exclusive) place for mass comm students to study/hang/play games and all that! Finally we don't have to keep knocking on the doors to get the seniors to open it for us hahaha. Next year, we'll probably be the ones having to do that for the year ones. Talking about this makes me feel so old, the idea of having juniors just makes you realise that you're aging and never going back down :(

Gonna go a bit crazy here. Unexpected thing that happened and probably during the entire Year One period, OUR GROUP WON A PRIZE FOR OUR FILM. I know I may sound like I'm bragging but I'm just really happy x10000. You have no idea how surprised we were.
There were only supposed to be top three prizes for the Video Production module, but apparently the industry people decided to give us a special mention award (which would technically place us fourth out of twenty films). Maybe you're thinking, "like that only" but it means a lotttt to me. All those 4am nights paid off - plus we got fifty bucks HAHA.

And this is a class shot of DMC 05 with our teacher who doesnt look like our teacher cause he blends in so well with us on the right wearing blue.
He made a video for us and he's been just so nice to our class, we all love him as our "form teacher", personal tutor, ah whatever you want to call it.
He's not gonna take our class next year though, which totally sucks but at least he said we can still visit his office to chat HAHAHA

On a side note, the class was so united during the freshman showcase, it kinda took me by surprise. We choreographed our class dance an hour before the showcase started and we cheered and chanted and won first for treasure hunt :D and that deserves a big retarded smiley. (they should just add emoji for blogger)

It's weird how your year would start from January and end in December but for us poly kids it's April to April.
So to sum up the school year, I guess it has been a good year. Had fights, disagreed, got irritated at one another but I honestly can't imagine myself somewhere else.
If I had gone to a different school, I wouldn't have met this class, and not the three girls (yes I know you're reading this, you better be so touched) and we're probably gonna argue again in year two but we're probably going to come out of it, hopefully, like that picture :)

Side note: I start work at eleven tomorrow so YAY MORE SLEEP FOR ME. And i thought that was worth mentioning HAHA

Goodnight people :*

Friday, 1 March 2013

Sorryyyy

I promise I will post something up soon, hopefully by Sunday. I know it's like I passed away and just disappeared for weeks.
I actually have a lottttt of things to blog about and am excited to blog about.
I'm just kinda exhausted with work everyday till 6 and I just crash when I came home.
Today was really amazing though, took leave cause we had my course's freshmen showcase and it was awesome, I was so happy cause we won an award but I'll just leave that for the next post, complete with pictures and explanations. But for now, goodnight :*

Yet another week summary

It's hard to believe year one of school is finally over. Well technically I have 2 more project presentations and I have to go back to school for three days but no more classes till APRIL. And here I am, doing another week summary. I really need to stop chunking everything up but oh well, sorry guys.

This was last friday, my lovely childhood friends' family came over for dinner and we basically just made funny faces at the camera and talked about everything under the sun. Charis, (girl on right), I used to carry her when she was a baby, which is kinda funny considering she's not much younger than me, just three years hahaha. It's a good thing I didnt drop her then :p

This was ALSO friday, but in the afternoon, KIM ZAHRAH AND I FOUND A TREEHOUSE IN SCHOOL. HOW COOL IS THAT. COME TO SP.
So the next two pictures are just me and zah (yes, zah and I) taking advantage of the fact that we have Kim as our photographer and posing like idiots, as usual. If this is shameless, you haven't seen the ones where we stood on a bench on the treehouse with one leg up in the air pretending to be ballerinas.

This was on 3 Feb aka mum's 54th birthday! Happy birthday, you're one year away from a senior citizenship card hahaha.

I wonder if they'd let me use it so I can get discounts, hmm.

But anyway, we went to some restaurant place Bedok Reservoir, I had good company that night, so at least I wasnt bored to death :)
(we were with my uncle so they were just telling stories)

LAST WEEK, we had IMC+, basically it's some event at my school where industry experts come and give us talks and all that. It replaced are classes on Monday, and yes, this cupcake deserves its own picture because the decoration is so cute.

Fast forwarding to Thursday (i think), Kim Zah Christine and I went to Ikea for dinner, YUM.
and look at the meatballs, they're so ugly but they always said don't judge a book by its cover, so don't judge food by its appearance either.

Oh and we also had chicken wings. No I did not eat all of them, we had two each.

What I remember about this day though, is getting DRENCHED, by the rain which decided to pour the minute we got off the bus when we literally were just a few metres away from Ikea.
So I had wet jeans and squishy shoes all the way home from Redhill at rush hour.

Finally submitted by portfolio even though it's only due on the 14th, but I really dont want to make a special trip down to school just to submit work, so yay for me. It deserves a picture because it is pretty.
(it's just a fake portfolio if you're wondering, im not applying for any job)

Starbucks Iced Chocolate with whip cream, probably my new favourite drink next to Caramel Mach. But if you're planning to drink this, make sure you have some water. The chocolate is extremely thick, but it keeps you awake :)

Was mugging with Zah here to finish yet another video production project. But thankfully, we are DONEEEEEE.

Was actually writing this post last night but I didn't get to complete it cause we only came home at 1 plus :O I'm too lazy to write about CNY so I'll save that for another time!

January

My goodness, how long HAVEN'T I blogged? Busy busy me. I just read this quote off tumblr and it describes my entire blogging existence.
"writing seems so easy until you start writing"

All these pictures below, are from ages ago, I kept them as a draft but I shall just do a major recap now. What am I gonna do with these pictures if I don't, right?

1. See that CD on the right? The cause of my pain and sleepless nights from November or something, I can't even remember now. I know submission was on the 11th of January and no more Video Production (or so I thought, I'm in the midst of another video production project but its not nearly half as bad, thankfully)

2. I don't know why I was so random by uploading this, but I know I drank some strawberry kiwi fruit juices some morning (yes it's fresh)
My school sells awesome juice.

3. All the iphones of my friends, I remember this day we were filming a video with my iphone, seeing which phone got the message on our whatsapp group first- and kept rearranging the phones in order until the phones lit up in order from left to right when the message was received.
Yes, we were that bored.

4. Dai Qian's birthday! I know this was on the 14th cause I met her at Starbucks to catch up and eat some cake (Y) I remember she was actually really tired when she met me (it was before cca, after school) but she still looks pretty anyway. The difference- I look like a panda when I'm tired.

5. Major room cleaning. Organised my bookshelf the day before my mum came back from the Philippines. I'm pretty proud of this one :) I'm never neat.

6. THE TWO WEEK GROUNDING. Yes, two weeks, at home. No lunch, no dinners, no staying back in school.

7. I'm too lazy to upload the adventures of patrizha in school while she was grounded.

8. I got sick on Sunday and went home after the morning class when I realised that the teacher got it wrong and presentation WASN'T that monday (after forcing myself to school)

9. I went to school today after three days of not doing any work and rest is over.

10. I have five projects to do now but instead I did this post.

Side Note: I'm preparing myself for all the "i'm forever alone" status updates or tweets.
I hope everyone had a good January though!
Here's to February in 3 hours :)

Tuesday, 8 January 2013

A very late post about my trip

Sunsets are really beautiful, they really are. And I really had nothing to do in Boracay or the island, as I like to call it! So I spent almost every single day going to the beach at 530 just to wait for the sunset.

So to aid my post with visuals, that's how the beach looks like, except it really isn't that nice anymore because they keep putting up establishments on the beach which blocks your view and all :/ It makes me kind of sad that the island has now become some way to just earn money, oh well.

And I saw this cute little snowman that someone made with seaweed! HAHA. I just had to take a picture :p
Also I found out that there's actually Starbucks on the island! Considering you walk the entire island in an hour + (it's pretty tiny) I was pretty surprised.

This is my mum's side of the family, six siblings all in all, it's crazy :O And the ang moh people on the right are my step cousins if you happened to be wondering! hehe (My aunt remarried)

So I had really good food- by really good food I mean really unhealthy, fattening food but you know what? It was completely worth it HAHAHA
And I find it very coincidental how I picked four pictures and from left to right is my breakfast-dinner!
Yes I ate a lot, don't judge me.

And my favourite mango shake drink in the entire world gets its own separate picture :D

Going to Philippines wasn't exactly something I was ecstatic about, but it was a good trip I guess- boring, yes, but it made me realise that it's very hard not to do anything. That it takes conscious effort to sit and just relax. I got a lot of rest there because 1/2 the time I was sleeping hahahaha- in the car, at home in Manila, on the island, my mum was very amused.

It really made me so sad sometimes when I saw the kids knocking on car windows and all that. Even if my parents tell me they have like an "owner" and the money doesn't go to them but kids as little as 3 or 4 running across streets and the cars just speeding past (we have no lanes in the philippines) and you're just worried they'll get knocked down or something.
At least one thing I took back from this trip was to realise how blessed you are in Singapore. I came back and couldn't stop saying "I'm glad to be back" and how everything is really clean and organised and we have wifi/3G everywhere. Not having any internet for 9 days was painful, but then at least I learnt I should really stop complaining when other people have so much less that they live under bridges with cardboard and sell necklaces made out of flowers.

Oh and I almost forgot New Year's resolutions! Or more like challenges for this year. I actually didn't come up with a list but here's an impromptu one.

1. Rest.
I know not sleeping for 34 hours is insane and sleeping at 5 makes you sick and people get irritated at you cause you can't do work and you feel like crap so yes, rest is really important.

2. Manage my time better.
If I have time to tumblr/blog/twitter and whatnot, I have time to study and at the same time, prepare bible studies for my little Sec ones that I'm leading this year, really nervous and scared but excited.

3. Just keep growing.
2012 was a year where I realised how wonderful it is to grow in faith and I really don't want it to stop there.

4. Talk to my brother more.
I heard today that my brother couldn't sleep anymore at night in the US, and I feel bad. I tried calling him in Bora to wish me happy birthday and a happy new year but when he didn't pick up I didn't try again the next day.
I kinda do miss my brother :(

5. Patience and to stop complaining.
Basically, count your blessings :)

That's all I could think of for now, but I know I'll definitely think of more, just kinda sleepy-ish now that's why :x

And I'm truly sorry to the people I fell out with in 2012- not that you know my blog url but if by some miracle you happen to stumble across and read all the way to the end, thank you :)
It's been a hectic year, but a really good one.
8 days and I still can't believe it's 2013 and I took O's 2 years ago- TWO YEARS.

But to end this post off, a very very late Happy New Year to everyone and enjoy looking at the pretty fireworks! (the fireworks were really amazing, I was half in fear of getting hit by them cause they were so near hahahaha)
I really hope everyone has a blessed year ahead :')
